My name is Rachel Firneno and I work with adults, 18+ who struggle with depression, anxiety, stress, mood disorders, and adjustment disorders. I am trained in Cognitive theories as I strongly believe that our thoughts can greatly influence how we feel. However, I have vast experience in other approaches that will allow me to develop an approach specific to your needs. You will find that I provide a non-judgmental, safe, and compassionate environment for you to open up and work on your needs. I provide online only therapy using a secured video format as I believe this will reduce obstacles that we often face when keeping appointments.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado and Texas, a Board Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Board Certified Telemental Health provider BC-TMH. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2011 from Texas A&M University Central Texas, and my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2014.
I completed my internship in Texas working in community mental health with indigent clients who have severe mental illnesses, substance use issues, trauma, and co-occuring disorders in both the community and the clinic settings. I have extensive experience working to stabilize clients with multiple in-patient hospitalizations and/or incarcerations. During this time I provided Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy to clients as well as utilizing other evidenced-based therapies to help the clients meet their recovery goals.
Please feel free to contact me to schedule your FREE 15 minute phone or video consultation. I will be happy to discuss your needs and provide further information on a case-by-case basis.
